Cracked Clay Staircase from Free to Use 2022 Digital asset sculpture.

part of an ongoing series of shareware sculptures by Olle Stjerne, the staircase offer a variety of dramatic narrative interpretation that for me creates a canvas where I can project different textures, materials and stories.

From a dramatic interpretation in Hitchcock’s Vertigo and Psycho, the frightening and dizzying perspective, to our everyday use of an instantly recognizable architectural object, the staircase can be many things.

This time a cardboard maquette was covered in clay which hardened over time and pulled apart the underlying shape. The organic texture lent itself very well to photoscanning and now the object is a digital asset. Free to Use for anyone.
