Cragnore is the Shadow Familiar summoned by Rayne, the retainer to Lord Nathanial Avengard. The beast is an extension of Rayne, and therefore behaves very similarly to her.

We confronted Cragnore within the caverns of Mt. Osiris. She was accompanied by Rayne. Myself, Shawn, and Jerry defeated her in the final confrontation.
