Craigievar Castle in Aberdeenshire is one of Scotland’s best preserved tower houses. Built in the late 1500s it has survived over 400 years. The National Trust for Scotland has been caring for the castle since 1962 and research has demonstrated just how important Craigievar is in helping us understand how castles in Scotland were re-built and re-designed throughout their histories.
