More model informationThis cranium was discovered in 1904 during quarry activity at Acharole, Caithness, near the now fallen standing stones. It is believed to belong to a young male, who lived and died in the early Bronze Age. The burial also included a ‘Beaker’ pottery vessel, assoictaed with the ‘Beaker folk’ from across Europe. This individual is being researched as a part of a wider project researching Chalcolithic and early Bronze Age burials from the Caithness area. This item is a part of the collections at the Hunterian Museum in Glasgow, Scotland. It is catalogued here: http://collections.gla.ac.uk/#details=ecatalogue.113697 For more information about the site and discovery see: https://canmore.org.uk/site/8804/acharole-cnoc-sgadain
