Fragment d’ostéoderme : Diplocynodon styriacus est un petit crocodile à museau pointu, rapproché des Alligatoridés et des Caimans. Son dos et son ventre étaient protégés par une épaisse cuirasse d’ostéodermes de petite taille que l’on retrouve fréquemment dans le gisement. Long de 1,50 mètre environ, il fréquentait les lacs et les cours d’eau dont la température moyenne allait de 22 à 26°C.

Fragment of an osteoderm: Diplocynodon styriacus is a small crocodile with pointed muzzle, close to Alligatoridae and Caimans. His back and belly were protected by a thick cuirasse of small osteoderms that were frequently found in the deposit. It was about 1.50 metres long and frequented lakes and streams with an average temperature ranging from 22 to 26 degrees Celsius.
