Fragment of a cross slab from St Ola’s Church, Whiteness, Shetland. The simple knotwork interlace provides a general early medieval date, while the ribbon-like expansional cross on the opposite face appears in Pictish to Viking-age grave markers elsewhere in Shetland at Papil and St Ninian’s Isle.
