More model informationThis early medieval relief-carved cross consists of two intertwining ribbons set within a frame, echoing decoration from contemporary manuscripts like the Book of Kells.
Only three groups of letters are visible on the weathered surface.
A number of early Christian cross-incised stones and cross-slabs have been found on Iona. They were probably grave-markers, or possibly boundary-markers, with those decorated on both sides standing upright, and the rest being recumbent.
