This wooden block is in the shape of an octahedron. This object is used in crystallography in order to show of different axes of symmetry. These cubes belong to the Indiana State University Department of Earth and Environment Systems Geology Collection (ISUEESGC).
The model was shot using a light box, turn-table method with a gorrilla-pod stabilization unit. A total of 145 photos were used in Agisoft Metashape, processing parameters as follows:
-alignment: accuracy - high
-markers detected - 23
-dense cloud: quality - medium; depth filtering - moderate
-mesh: source data - dense cloud; quality - medium; depth filtering - moderate; face count - 180k
-texture: mapping mode - generic; blending mode - mosaic; texture 4,096 x 1
Model was created inside the Geospatial and Virtual Achaeology Lab and Studio (GVALS) at Indiana State University (ISU). Photography and rendering credit goes to Jacob Rayl (WeatherWiz13).
