More model informationThis 3D reconstruction is based on clinical CT scans where the slices are taken every 3.75 mm. This is far from ideal but good enough to make out the ventricles and the subdural hematoma. The subdural hematoma, on the right side of the brain, is in yellow, the ventricles are in blue. While it is difficult to tell the brain is also compressed because of the subdural. In this model I show DOI, short for Day of Injury, and 3 Months Post, for 3 months after the DOI.
You can find out more about the usefulness of CT scans in an early publication called “Day of injury CT scan as an index to pre-injury brain morphology”.
