More model informationCytochrome c (cyt c) is a small hydrophilic mobile electron carrier and plays an important role in the electron transport chain (ETC). It contains a heme group and can transport one electron at a time. Cyt c slides across the top of the mitochondrial inner membrane to deliver electrons from Complex III to IV.
This model was created using ChimeraX from x-ray diffraction structure data in the Protein Data Bank (PDB ID 5TY3). PDB DOI: 10.2210/pdb5TY3/pdb & https://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimerax/
