More model informationDaithi’s Stone (The Long Stone) is a pillar stone located within a Ring-Barrow with entrances on the east and west. Th site was excavated by Waddell (1980’s). Legend says it was the burial place of the last pagan King of Ireland, Daithi, who was struck by lighting on his way back from the Alps (possibly Alba’s in Scotland). The stone is of Red Sandstone, not local to the Rathcroghan Area.
