The Starfreighter is a large vessel built for mining resources. The Defense Class Starfreighters replace the salvage beam cannons with heavy artillery laser cannons. The vessel is built for an defensive role, and can attack from a greater distance away from a battling sector to provide support for regular fighters. The Starfreighter can also carry a number of heavy artillery lock on missiles.
