Silly Headcanon:
The great blade are not made of normal means, the intricate decorations and the size of the weapon indicate its previous owner is probably not human.
Weathered by time and combat, tho its gems and structure look dim and battered. Its great blade remain sharp and diligant, capable of cutting its offender in half.
When its user’s blood stained the weapon, the weapon, perhaps detecting their partner at risk. Will spur to life in response, allow th users to sing it with ease and return to its user when thrown.
Such magically enhanced item are normally not without a sinister side, however sanguine’s urge to protect its wielder feels....geniune.
Some said it was once wielded by the an angel, who failed to protect their loved one at the most critical moment, perhaps its echo remained.
