Decorated stone axe, III millennia BCE

Finely decorated amphibolite axe, attributed to the Bronze Age Katakombna culture. Height = 13.6 cm. It was found in a kourgan burial of Katakombna culture excavated near Rakhmanivka in 1964.

Artefact is stored at Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum.

The model was digitized in the course of the project “Preserving Ukrainian Legacy,” supported by the US Embassy in Ukraine (Kyiv) and the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation. It is a joint ownership of Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum, non-profit organization “CyArk” and NGO “Scientific Research Lab “Archaic”.
