Three-dimensional reconstruction (3DR) of a box jellyfish (Alatina) found off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii at a depth of 457 meters during the Schmidt Ocean Institute’s Designing the Future cruise. The 3DR model was created using MBARI’s laser imaging instrument DeepPIV, which was deployed from RV Falkor mounted to ROV SuBastian. Raw video collected by ROV SuBastian can be viewed here, and stabilized DeepPIV footage that was used to generate the 3DR model can be viewed here.
