This is a simple 3D model of a petroglyph panel from the Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve in Glendal, AZ (NW of Phoenix) in the Hedgpeth Hills. This particular panel was previously claimed to represent a “South Iberian Punic Ship” by Gloria Farley (1994) in her book “In Plain Sight: Old World Records in Ancient America.” This model is associated with an (in press) publication by Peeples, Fioccoprile, Beatty, Lewis, Maiorella, Sainz, Stanley, Stevens, and Street (Journal of Arizona Archaeology Vol 7. No. 2, 2020) which evaluates and debunks this claim. The model was generated from a video shot using an iPhone 6s and converted using the Zephyr 3D software. The model shows the current orientation and relative position of the boulder that is the subject of the article and a small area around it. Given the precarious location of this boulder on the steep slope of the Hedgpeth Hills it was not possible to obtain full coverage of the sides of the boulder.
