Defining Features of P.falciparum TPI Enzyme

Triose phosphate isomerase [TPI] is the enzyme involved in catalysing the 5th reaction of glycolysis [the isomeriation of DHAP to G3P]. The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum is particularly effcient at this reaction, contributing to its abilty to outperform and overtake H.sapien TPI when infected.
