This hand specimen, which was cut and polished along the XZ and XY planes of the finite strain ellipsoid, shows pebbles of a congolmerate that have been sheared and deformed. You can use the aspect ratios of these pebbles to do a strain analysis and quantify the finite strain of this rock.
