More model information

5-DOF Parallel Robot (XYZ + 2 Rotational Axes)

This model of a 5-degree-of-freedom (DOF) Delta robot from ABB was animated in Blender using armatures (bones) with inverse kinematics (IK) for realistic motion. The model has been exported in GLB format for display on Sketchfab.

Rigging could be further optimized, but I’m wrapping it up for now…

The original CAD file is availabale from ABB’s website.

The downladable files from Sketchfab include:

  • Blender model prepared with version 4.2
  • GLB file exported using the same software:
    • Animation mode: Active actions merged / Bake all objects animations
    • Shape Keys Animation

Screen capture of the IRB 390 model in Blender 4.2.

🎞️ You may also check out this Youtube Short video, which features a video screen capture of the 3D model in action on Sketchfab.
