This statue situated on the lousberg inside of the German city of Aachen in NRW is part of a two piece called “devil and market-woman” and together the two statues recount the legend of a market woman who tricked Satan and saved the city of Aachen. The legend also explains the creation history of the lousberg where the statue is now exposed.
