Dinoceras, well known as genus Uintatherium, is an extinct genus of large, prehistoric mammals that lived during the late Eocene to early Oligocene epochs, around 37 to 32 million years ago. Often classified as a member of the order Perissodactyla, Dinoceras is notable for its distinctive features, including a massive skull adorned with prominent, horn-like structures and a robust, bulky body. These herbivorous mammals inhabited forested environments in what is now North America and were likely browsers, feeding on leaves and shrubs. Dinoceras offers important insights into the evolution of early ungulates and the diverse ecosystems of its time.
