Starting its journey April 22, 1998 as Countdown to Extinction before being refurbished and renamed to tie into the 2000 film, Dinosaur was an immediate hit with its intense, thrilling experience using state of the art motion simulator technology, breathtaking special effects, and some of the largest animatronics Disney had to offer at the time. It quickly became a fan favorite for frequent park goers, and has left lasting memories in several generations. Unfortunately, it appears that this ride will be leaving the parks soon, replaced by a new Indiana Jones ride. Before the ride’s own Countdown to Extinction hits zero, I plan to preserve several components of the ride, so that people who grew up with the ride can keep the memory alive forever.
