More model informationThis disc-headed cross with a broad shaft decorated with interlace is typical of a style of carving that was emerging in the Whithorn area in the late 900s and 1000s. It is unusual to have a straight-sided shaft without any decoration on the back.
It was recorded to have come from Sorbie Churchyard, 4 miles north of Whithorn, Dumfries and Galloway, and is one of only two disk-headed cross-slabs to still have its head intact.
