This donkey was buried in ca. 1750-1800 in historic farmlands west of the colonial walled city of St. Augustine. It was documented under the elevated floor joists of the Yallaha Plantation house (constructed post-1800s) but found in poor condition due to soil chemistry and construction activities. The head and hindquarters are missing.
