For the longest time, a considerable part of the Russian cultural heritage has been in ruins. The Communist regime has had quite complex relations with the Orthodox church of the time. Most of the church buildings had been repurposed becoming warehouses, libraries and museums. Some we not so lucky. Completely or partially demolished.
This church was built around the end of the 19th century to replace two older wooden churches nearby. It stood for less than half a century and was deconstructed for the bricks in 1939. What an irony, kolhoz buildings built with these bricks now, in turn, lay in ruins to never be remembered.
These ruins, on the other hand, are still a place of worship. People come here to pray and to remember. I doubt this church has any chance to be rebuilt. The population shrank significantly in this part of Russia. But it is still a part of the cultural heritage.
