Detail of the lower part of the Dr John Nicholas (d. 27 February 1711) memorial In the chapel of the south transept, Winchester Cathedral, Hampshire. Nicholas was a Warden of Winchester College and and prebendary of the Cathedral. His name is inscribed in Latin as Johannes. The monument features to memento mori skulls with boney necks and feathered wings. Dates to the early 18th-century.
