A statue of dragon turtle in the Forbidden City, Beijing, China.
Symbolic animals are very important in Imperial China. Hence the palace is full of representation or related item to animals such as turtle, crane, lion, deer and of course dragon. The turtle is symbol of longevity and divination while the dragon is a symbol of power, in particular on the water, which is quite good when you are emperor and your people need rain for the crops. Dragons is directly link with the emperor and all the imperial building are decorated with golden dragons (that’s a lot of them in the forbideen city!).
Concerning the scanning, again I used my P9Lite to shoot a video from the back to the front with only one angle. The left side of the turtle is not accesible since the statue is on the side of an elevated plateform.
