Not much was visible this year of the 201 ft wooden steamer Drake above shifting sands. The Drake was built in 1882 and sank in 1901 in a storm while trying to rescue the crew of her consort Michigan after the tow line snapped. The two ships collided in the rescue attempt and the Drake ended up sinking in fifty foot of water. The crews of both ships were rescued by the two ships Northern Wave and Crescent City. One crew member perished. The model was created from 1,053 30-megapixel RAW images shot by Andrew Goodman this August 2022.
