More model informationThe tug Duncan City was purchased in 1918 by Michigan Limestone and Chemical Company (MLCC) following the purchase of W. G. Mason. It was decommissioned and sunk in 1923. The wreck lies in the bay near Calcite in 15 ft of water and is buoyed by the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The large boulders on the site are the massive limestone boulders used to sink Duncan City when it was deemed “unfit for service.” The model was created from 1,491 30 megapixel images shot in the 2022 summer diving season.
