Dungeon Room - watercolor texture 3D Model
*Go to the Model inspector menu and check “Diffuse” to see only the texture without the effects/lights.
This was a test model using an old game-like conceptart that I made(the conceptart was also done with real watercolors):
The texture is handpainted with real watercolors, that then got scanned and adjusted back to the UV’s.
I did the whole painting proccess twice, you really need to print the UV’s and paint over them, eyeballing the shapes only isn’t enough, since you can lose a lot of details when deforming the painting to fit the model’s UV layouts.
Not sure how optimal this proccess is for a true production tho, probably using a digitalwatercolor mixed with scanned textures would be a better approach (my suggestion: Kyle Webster watercolor brushes for Photoshop are amazing. But since I’m a freeware person now, I’ll continue searching for cool alternatives).
Hope you guys liked it! I sure enjoyed doing this fixed light demo, looks like a real diorama. Cheers!
