More model informationThis is a decimated 3-D scan of the Thirioux dodo skeleton, shown as exhibited at the Durban Natural Science Museum in South Africa. The skeleton has been mounted incorrectly a century ago, with a stance that is too upright and an angle between the pelvis and the ribcage skeleton that is too acute. We have produced an anatomically correct, digitally remounted version of this skeleton, which can also be seen on Aves 3D and Sketchfab. This specimen is the subject of a newly published anatomical atlas of the dodo (Raphus cucullatus), the first major revision of dodo anatomy since 1866. Scanned by Aves 3D.
