Ceramic or coade stone, South Western Pottery, Poole
“This eagle once stood in Annie [Nelson Clark] and Merton [Russel-Cotes]’s garden here at East Cliff Hall
It was made by George Jenning Southern Pottery Poole, (later Poole Pottery), possibly from ceramics or Coade stone (an artificial stone used for garden ornaments). Dated 1890-1901, similar eagles still guard the entrance to Poole Park. [view in Google Maps]
