Eastern gray squirrel skull 3D Model
The skull of an eastern gray squirrel, once home to a brain the size of a walnut. Before chuckling in superiority, consider the following: this squirrel knew how to bury a thousand nuts or more in distinctly separate places, hiding them so well. Then when winter came, it remembered precisely where each one was, as it ventured down from its twiggy nest to dig for dinner through inches of snow, leaves, and soil. This magnificent little mind palace was found on a trail outside Amherst, Virginia. Its 55mm length, 26mm height, and 34mm width, together with its ample degree of geometric complexity, made it a fine choice for automated desktop 3D scanning. Scanning time: 4 minutes, 15 seconds for each of two positions. Processing time: 12 minutes.
