More model informationThe Egadi 14 ram belonged to a warship that took part in a massive naval battle that concluded the First Punic War. A Roman naval fleet intercepted a Carthaginian relief effort in the Egadi Islands and effectively stopped Carthages final attempt to turn the tide of the war. After 2000 years these finds are helping archaeologists understand the events of the battle and the technology of ancient warships.
This bronze waterline ram was identified during the 2018 Battle of the Egadi Islands Survey Project. The artifact was raised in July of 2019 by a collaborative effort of the Sopritendenza del Mare, RPM Nautical Foundaition, and Global Underwater Explorers.
