Ellis pondered on this offer. A chance to become one of the Divines? Watching over the world for eternity? Who could turn that down? And yet…

“I’ve spent so much of my own life giving to others. And I don’t think there’s anything left I have to offer to the world. Being an immortal, I think I wouldn’t be able to do as much good… Thank you for the offer, master. But no.” she decided.

“Okay, I understand you completely. And I must say, I am proud of what you have become. But now is the time we must part. Goodbye, Ellie.” the Great Spirit said as Ellis felt her consciousness beginning to fade. “I hope we meet again in another life…” it whispered.
