Elmina Castle, Ghana

Built in 1482 by the Portuguese, Elmina Castle is the oldest European trading fort in Sub-Saharan Africa. It became a significant slave trading center under the Dutch in the 18th century. This model blends drone and ground-level images and was done during the joint Univ. of Rochester/Univ. of Ghana Digital Archaeology field school in June 2017.
