With reference from the Embryology book, “The developing Embryo - Clinically oriented Embryology”, written by Keith L. Moore, this is the first of the series.
Made the hollow hemisphere in Microsoft 3D builder. Imported the object onto Microsoft 3D painter and completed the rest of it.
Zygote is contained in zona pellucida. With progrsessive division, compaction (become compact balls of cells) occurs. Morula is formed by Day 3 of fertilisation which has 12 to 32 cells. An outer layer (trophoblast in light pink colour) is distinct from an inner cell mass (embryoblast in red colour). Fluid filled cavity separating these two layers is blastocyst cavity. Zona pellucida slowly disintegrates and thus the late blastocyst is now ready for implantation by Day 6 of fertilisation.
This series is made with the prospect of helping MBBS students understand Embryology in a better way. Knowledge needs to be free and accessible being my motto, all the models are freely downloadable.
