More model informationType 1A hip ends are very similar to Type 1 hip ends. The difference is that two additional members are added to triangulate rafters between the first station truncated truss and the hip end wall. That sounds very technical, so let’s break it down.
As discussed in the Trusses section, the first station truncated truss is simply the first truncated truss in from the hip end wall. Triangulate simply means that two additional sections are added to create a triangular shape at the base of the rafter. This helps to position the rafter during installation.
