An extremely famous and unique stelae from Kernosivka village (Dnipro region, Ukraine). Its height is 120 cm, weight — over 230 kg. Statue depicts man figure. It has a rectangular head and body. All four sides are intensively engraved with figurative and geometric ornaments. The figurative ornamentation includes the weapon (axes, knive and bone) and zoomorphic figures. Other sides are featured with ribs and zigzag engravings. In the lower part figure is decorated with a phallus and sandals (front and back respectively).
Stelae was accidentally found during the household in 1973.
Artefact is stored at Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum.
The model was digitized in the course of the project “Preserving Ukrainian Legacy,” supported by the US Embassy in Ukraine (Kyiv) and the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation. It is a joint ownership of Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum, non-profit organization “CyArk” and NGO “Scientific Research Lab “Archaic”.
