More model informationThis is the binocular-shaped vessel of Trypillia culture. It has been made circa 4100—3800 BCE. It originates from the collection of Vikentiy Khvoika, who studied and described Trypillia culture in the late 19th century. Though vessels of this type are well recognizable and iconic for Trypillya, the idea behind their shape remains unclear.
Artefact is stored in the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.
The model was digitized in the course of the project “Preserving Ukrainian Legacy,” supported by the US Embassy in Ukraine (Kyiv) and the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation. It is a joint ownership of National Museum of History of Ukraine, non-profit organization “CyArk” and NGO “Scientific Research Lab “Archaic”.
