A railway driving simulator is a technological tool used to recreate, within a controlled virtual environment, the experience of driving a railway vehicle on any of the lines it has configured in its programme. Being generic, can emulate different railway vehicles.
It creates exercises that resemble those found during real driving and therefore the problems that could arise depend on the decisions made by the driver trainee.
The software has been designed by the Renfe company and is specified for the Railway Museums of Catalonia and Madrid. This has a functionality adapted for the exhibition and for the performance of a basic driving exercise.
This 3D model has been created within the framework of the project ‘AN INTERACTIVE MUSEUM BRINGING RAILWAY HERITAGE CLOSER’ of the European Project Semester 2024, in cooperation with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
