More model informationCologne, ca. 1340. Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nürnberg. From the museum’s description: Slender proportions, close fitting robes on the upper body and soft drapery folds characterize one of the most important Madonna types in Cologne’s prolific sculptural output in the first half of the 14th century. The complex polychromy with markedly modeled mantle hems have survived relatively intact. The side panels of the throne display painted saints standing under Gothic tracery.
