More model informationThis is Eqik Qaarusussuaq (Cove Cave) located at 80’N in Northeast Greenland. At 103 m long, it is the longest cave that the Greenland Caves Project has so far discovered. The entrance contains a beautiful ice pool that is difficult to cross. Once the pool has been traversed, it is possible to descend beneath the hoar frost down a phreatic tunnel to the lower part of the cave that contains a vadose trench. The walls are covered in flowstone in the lower part.
Production of this model and hosting on this website was made possible by FWF Project Y1162-N37.
