More model informationA CAD model I spent a few months designing for my school’s engineering institute. It’s an equatorial telescope mount that I will hopefully be able to use for astrophotography. There are four axes on the mount: altitude, azimuth, right ascension, and declination. The base has the first two, and they are controlled manually to polar align the right ascension axis. The RA and DEC axes will be computerized later on which should give the mount GOTO and autoguiding capabilities. When the RA axis rotates at a sidereal rate, the mount will follow the night-sky, allowing long-exposure astrophotography.
