The statue, completed by Pietro Tacca, was originally created in the early 17th century (destroyed 1792, replaced 1818). It depicts King Henry IV in regal attire, astride a powerful horse, reflecting his reputation as a military leader and statesman. The statue resides on the Pont Neuf, one of Paris’ iconic bridges.
