Errigal Keeroge -SM7-TYR-059-006 - Carved Stone3D ModelNoAI
This unusual carved stone is located at Errigal Kerroge. There is a note on www.irelands-sheelanagigs.org There were two carvings from this stie, one removed to the Ulster Museum, and the other located at the site. Upon first discovery it was thought to be a knight, and may be a coffin stone, or grave marker. There are no facial features with the face being cut away and an inset where the features should be. The body is long, and arms reach from the shoulders to above the waist where two large hands rest. There is no evidence of breasts or vulva. This figure is more like the Kilgobbin figure in Dublin, and a similar stone on Devenish Island Co. Fermanagh. While it cannot 100% be counted as a Sheela-na-Gig it has been identified as such in the past as has been included in this survey. The stone appears to be the one discused on 28-33 in this document
