On the south side of the parish church of St. Bartholomew in Katzelsdorf stands a group of figures depicting the archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. It was donated by Magdalena Kersch and commemorates the victims of World War I.
The stone group of figures shows the three archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael in characteristic representations. In the middle stands Michael as a heavenly warrior in armor, defeating the dragon—symbol of evil—with his lance. On the left is Gabriel with a lily, the traditional symbol of the Annunciation and purity. On the right, Raphael holds a walking stick and a fish, symbols of his healing and guiding role. Together, the three archangels embody protection, divine message, and healing—virtues that give the monument a comforting and hopeful meaning.
