CAT: També la cultura ibèrica va conèixer l’esfinx, aquesta figura mitològica venerada i temuda alhora per diferents civilitzacions al llarg de la Mediterrània antiga. La d’Ullastret va ser tallada damunt d’una placa d’os d’animal. Amb les seves urpes, ales i mirada humana, té aproximadament 27 segles d’antiguitat.

La de Ullastret fue esculpida sobre una placa de hueso animal. Con sus garras, alas y mirada humana, tiene aproximadamente 27 siglos de antigüedad.

ENG: The Iberian Culture knew about the sphinx too, that mythological creature adored and dreaded in a same way for many civilisations along the Ancient Mediterranean. The sphinx from Ullastret was carved on a piece of some animal bone. With its claws, wings and human gaze, it has about 27 centuries of antiquity.
