Excavation at Waldling (2021-08-16)

Here an unedited 3D model of the condition of Trench 2 dated Aug. 16, 2021 is shown, which was made during the Waldling 2021’s teaching excavation. The model shows the final state of the trench of that day. It was captured simply by an Apple iPad Pro using LIDAR within less then 10 min (including processing time) – in the end with some minor modifications during post-processing the overall model will be certainly very acceptable. This method provides the ability to gather 3D data very fast and to produce quite accurate results with just using a smart device.
