Extra quest in the Abyss: find the lizard fish

Use the two pads of the mouse to drag yourself along this image transect, and find the spooky lizard fish (Bathysaurus sp.; ~80 cm long) hidden in this seabed mosaic. If you found it easy, try now to find the number of brittle stars in this transect. These images were taken in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone of the Pacific Ocean, at a depth of 4,000 km. They were retrieved with the remotely operated vehicle Isis, driven from the Royal Research Ship James Cook, under the Smartex programme (National Oceanography Centre).
